KEY Oklahoma City

Jerry Abbott
Team Leader, Fly Shop
Bass Pro Shops

PROFILE: Jerry was born in Oklahoma, but needed to see the rest of the world, before moving back to Oklahoma City. Jerry’s career, and love of the outdoors, has taken him from Oklahoma to Texas, California, Alaska and Wyoming, before moving back in 1995. Jerry joined Bass Pro Shop as the Fly Shop Team Leader prior to the opening of the store in November 2003.

Jerry is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying bird hunting, with his Lewellin Setter Midge, dog training and fly fishing. Jerry also enjoys photography and practices CPR – catch, photograph and release. It's worth the trip to stop by the store for a fly-tying demonstration – and get more information on the great Oklahoma outdoors.

FAVORITE OKC RESTAURANT: "The great thing about having our store in Bricktown is all the great restaurant choices. Bricktown restaurants feature something for everyone. Whether you're looking for great Mexican or Italian, seafood to steak, or just some great Oklahoma BBQ—it's all right here in Bricktown."

FAVORITE OKC ATTRACTION: "A trip to Oklahoma City is just not complete without a stop at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. This popular museum features an outstanding collection of classic and contemporary western art, galleries, and is a 'must-do' on your visit!"

FOR THE OUTDOORSMAN: "Once you’ve purchased your new shotgun from Bass Pro Shop, I suggest a stop at Melot's. The range features 'wobble-trap' and dog training by owner Max Melot, plus quail to release and open areas for training on your own.
