KEY Oklahoma City

The Deep Deuce Grill is located at 307 NE 2nd St. between Walnut Avenue and Russell M. Perry (Joe Carter), just three blocks north of the heart of Bricktown. Nestled within an upscale apartment community overlooking downtown Oklahoma City, the Deep Deuce Grill is situated in what was once Oklahoma’s most well known jazz district.

Renovated in late 2009 and under new management, the Deep Deuce Grill is a cozy neighborhood bar and grill with an atmosphere unparalleled in downtown Oklahoma City. With the rise in tourism traffic, the Deep Deuce Grill is quickly gaining a reputation as the up and coming, most unique venue Bricktown has to offer.

The Deep Deuce Grill’s menu offers a wide variety to choose from. Try one of their unique sandwiches, wraps, or burgers at lunch and join them for dinner to sample one of their newest entrée items such as their signature Second Street Steak Ums or the Grilled Salmon with Pineapple Habanero Salsa. Guests can pair their meal with a selection from the diverse wine list, try out one of their creative specialty drinks, or enjoy an ice-cold draft beer. Happy hour is offered every day from 4pm-7pm and again from 11pm-2am; including $1 domestic bottles for women and $2 domestic bottles for men.

Looking out amongst the attorneys, politicians, and local residents who frequent this neighborhood hangout, the average guest might miss the historical significance of the Deep Deuce Grill. If you listen closely, you might hear the echoes of musicians from the distant past. Long before the restaurant and residential developments, Deep Deuce reflected a very different time in our nation’s history.

Originally dubbed Deep Second, the Deep Deuce was settled during the Land Run in 1889 by the first 200 African- Americans to enter what is now Oklahoma City. The bustling neighborhood became home to two of America’s most famous jazz legends, Jimmy Rushing and Charlie Christian; as well as to famous author Ralph Ellison. Deep Deuce quickly evolved into a place of respite for renowned musicians traveling throughout the Midwest to play music.

The Deep Deuce Grill is the place to be for happy hour before an event, or dinner and drinks late night. Deep Deuce loves Thunder basketball and offers a free limousine shuttle to and from all Thunder home games. They also feature live music on their fantastic outdoor patio during the spring, summer, and early fall months; bringing the sounds of jazz and blues back to the neighborhood. Come relax with friends next to their open fire-pit, order a round of drinks, and become part of the Deep Deuce family.

The Deep Deuce Grill can be reached by calling (405) 235-9100.
