Renowned television and screen star Jamie Farr will star as the lovable George Burns in the award winning Broadway play Say Goodnight Gracie, The Life, Laughter & Love of George Burns and Gracie Allen for eight performances November 16-21 at the Civic Center Music Hall. Say Goodnight Gracie also features the acclaimed actress Didi Conn’s estimable talents as the singular voice of Gracie Allen.

The play originally made its world debut two years ago in Ft. Lauderdale and garnered the Carbonelle Award for Best New Play in 2000. It was further developed and remounted for the Broadway production. The production was nominated for a 2003 Tony Award® for Best Play and won the 2003-04 National Broadway Theatre Award for Best Play.

In Say Goodnight Gracie, theater audiences take a guided tour through an American century told through the eyes of George Burns who savored each day from his impoverished youth on the lower East side, to his career in Vaudeville, his marriage to Gracie Allen, their rise to success on stage, screen, radio and TV, and finally George’s “second time around”.

Jamie Farr, who is best known for his role as the cross-dressing “Klinger” on the legendary M*A*S*H television series, is no stranger to the stage. He toured with John Davidson in Will Rogers’s Follies and played Oscar Madison in the national tour of The Odd Couple with his M*A*S*H* associate, William Christopher. Jamie’s Broadway debut was made in the long running Guys and Dolls for which he received rave reviews for his portrayal of Nathan Detroit. More recently, he appeared in Moon Over Buffalo, as well as the comedy-thriller play, Catch Me If You Can.
