PROFILE: Originally from Elk City, Oklahoma, Katie’s family operates a rodeo company - and she spent a lot of time in and out of hotels while traveling to different rodeos. It was this opportunity that peaked her interest in the hospitality industry. Katie attended the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and earned her Bachelors degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration. She moved back to Oklahoma, and last December received her Master’s in Hotel Administration from Oklahoma State University. While completing her education, Katie’s work history included a Hotel and Casino in Vegas, learning about large resort hotel properties and the Hampton Inn & Suites in Stillwater – learning about limited service properties. After graduating from OSU, she accepted the position of Guest Service Lead with Bricktown’s newest hotel - Hampton Inn & Suites. Favorite OKC Nightspot: “My favorite spot to spend the evening is in Bricktown - there is always something going on! The perfect evening includes dinner and live music at Jazmo’z Bourbon Street Café and then off to the ballpark to enjoy a Redhawks baseball game - the AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers – and to complete the evening, live music and dancing at the Wormy Dog Saloon, just across the street from our hotel!” Favorite OKC Restaurant: “Oklahoma City has such a vast amount of sights to see. One of the ‘don’t miss’ attractions is my favorite restaurant - Cattleman’s Steak House. Located in the historic Stockyard’s District, just a short drive from our hotel, Cattlemen’s has a great history and is listed in the book 1000 places to see before I die. I suggest you get there early – and take a stroll through the shops in the area.” “Oklahoma City has such a diverse culture – I’m glad I made it home. Enjoy your stay – and everything Oklahoma City has to offer!” A concierge
