PROFILE: Randy was born in Chicago, IL, but grew up in Mountainburg, AR. It was here he met his wife of 32 years, Pam. They have two children, Andrew and Jenny, and one grandchild, Pride. He has spent the last 31 years in the military, with 8 years of that being active, including time spent training troops during Enduring Freedom. He was a city manager for 18 years and currently works for the state of Oklahoma as well as Water Taxi and the Ford Center. Favorite Restaurant: International House of Pancakes (IHOP). When questioned on this unique choice, Randy responded, “It’s my 4 year old granddaughter’s favorite and I love my granddaughter.” Lucky for Randy, a new IHOP is soon to open in the downtown area! What to do in OKC: Randy recommends spending time at the Oklahoma National Memorial and Museum, a monument erected to honor the lives of those lost in the bombing ten years ago, as well as the 45th Infantry museum, a free museum dedicated to telling the story of one of the first divisions into Germany at the end of World War II. Both experiences are sobering, yet powerful. If you’re looking for something a little less intense, you might want to take in an event at the Ford Center. From Kenny Chesney to Motley Crüe, arena football to professional hockey, or Billy Graham to R. Kelley, the Ford Center offers something for all tastes. Must See: BRICKTOWN!! As one of the original Water Taxi drivers, Randy has seen and been a part of the evolution of bricktown. Granted, the dynamics will continue to evolve for years to come, but the district now offers fine dining, entertainment, and shopping in a family-friendly environment. In addition, bricktown is in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, so the atmosphere is saturated with culture and history. Randy has lived all over the world, but has chosen to raise his family and make a life in Oklahoma City because he loves it here – that says a lot for both Oklahoma City and Randy Allen. A concierge
