KEY Oklahoma City

Visitors to Oklahoma City have the unique opportunity to view one of the most extensive collections of Dale Chihuly glass in the world. Chihuly's work is included in 175 museum collections, including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art whose Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Tower in the Museum’s three-story atrium, standing at 55' tall, is the tallest Chihuly installation in the world.

The glass tower was created as a signature piece for the atrium of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art in 2002. The impressive, multi-colored tower of 2,400 individually hand-blown glass parts is visible from the Museum’s landings and staircases. Prominently displayed in the Museum’s three-story atrium, the Tower is visible from the street, unmistakably declaring the building as a place for art.

Dale Chihuly: The Collection includes 18 groupings and installations, including Jerusalem Cylinders, Ikebanas, a Macchia Forest, an Anemone Wall, Tiger Lilies, a Persian Wall, Seaform Ceiling, and the Waterford Crystal Chandelier, located in one of the Museum’s lobbies. Together, the exhibition, tower, and chandelier make Oklahoma City home to one of the most impressive collections of Chihuly glass.

Throughout the Museum's galleries, visitors discover exhibits drawn from the permanent collection of over 3,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and prints. The Museum's second and third floors display highlights from the collection of European and American art, featuirng works by Sir Thomas Lawrence, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georgia O'Keeffe, Ellsworth Kelly, Henry Moore, and many more.

The building also features a Museum Store, with merchandise unique to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s permanent collection as well as a special Chihuly section, a children’s section, and other merchandise, such as posters, books, jewelry, and gifts. The Museum also offers fine dining in its Museum Cafe.

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is one of the elite 5% of museums nationwide to achieve accreditation by the prestigious American Association of Museums. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Thursdays until 9:00 p.m. (May-October), Sundays 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, students, and military, and free for children five and under.
