Best Western Saddleback Inn
PROFILE: Kristen was born and raised in Oklahoma. She has been working in the hospitality industry for 10 years. She began her hospitality career in Stillwater, Oklahoma as a host for Red Lobster. Kristen fell in love with the hospitality industry, so much so, that she switched majors from Animal Science to Hotel and Restaurant Administration.
After graduating from OSU in 2002, her career began at the Westin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City as the Restaurant Manager and was quickly promoted to Assistant Banquet Manager. Her career path changed to sales when she hired as the Catering Sales Manager by Best Western Saddleback Inn and Conference Center. After several years in the hotel industry she was recruited by Chili’s Bar and Grill as a Manager in Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri. She found herself missing the hotel industry and in 2008 accepted her current position as Director of Sales for the Saddleback Inn. She says “I feel like I am home and never left.”
WHAT TO SEE AND DO: “The best part of my job is talking to guests about what to see and do in Oklahoma City. No matter the season, travelers can catch any sporting event from hockey to baseball to arena football and of course, a NBA basketball game with our new Oklahoma City Thunder. While in the downtown area, guests can enjoy the Myriad Gardens, Museum of Art, Oklahoma City National Museum and Memorial as well as the Bricktown Entertainment District.”
FAVORITE RESTAURANTS: “Our guests are amazed at the selection of local dining choices. To top the list, I always suggest a trip to Cattleman’s Steakhouse in the heart of the historic Stockyards District – and just minutes from our hotel. If guests are visiting downtown or Bricktown - Nonna’s Ristaurante is a great choice for upscale dining. For a more casual meal – I recommend Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy.”
PLAN A TRIP – BACK: “OKC is the host city for the Harley Owners Group (HOG) National Rally – with an estimated 20,000 bikes - June 26 and 27, 2009. Best Western is the preferred hotel for Harley Davidson and the Saddleback Inn is located just minutes away from the convention site.”
