KEY Oklahoma City

Visitors to Oklahoma City have the unique opportunity to experience Bricktown’s newest restaurant – Lotus. Reminiscent of restaurants in New York and LA, Lotus delivers continental tastes and décor to Oklahoma City.

American steaks have always been a classic part of the dining experience in Oklahoma, and Lotus offers an exciting new twist on the concept. With a menu that offers classic mesquite grilled steaks, eclectic seafood dishes, and sushi, Lotus has become the new hot spot in Bricktown.

Beyond the ‘new twist’ with the menu selection, Lotus creates a new and innovative dining experience. The atmosphere at Lotus is enhanced with synchronized kinetic lighting, featuring a 16 foot by 8 foot etched glass design, inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” The computer driven displays produce over 16 million colors of light that bathe the restaurant through etched glass and silk displays. If you can imagine the relaxing effect of ocean waves, the kinetic lighting similarly soothes your soul. Lotus also features a vibrant display of modern art, valued at more $50,000, and available for purchase. The majority of works are oil on canvas and feature local, Californian and European artists.

The American dining experience, especially outside of the major cities, is dominated by cookie cutter “theme” restaurants. The décor at Lotus enhances the concept that is totally original and unique. The combination has caught a few people off guard thinking Lotus is a Japanese steakhouse, or just sushi. On their first visit, they see that there is really something for everyone.

The dynamic of an American seafood and steakhouse combined with a sushi bar provides a unique opportunity for diners. Combining sushi with the more traditional seafood and steakhouse menu, allows guests who aren’t familiar with sushi the opportunity to try selections from the sushi bar as an appetizer, but still have the flexibility to order a steak, seafood or pasta dish.

Now, to dispel a myth–sushi is more than just raw fish. Sushi offerings are available cooked, uncooked and prepared. In fact, more than 80% of the menu offerings are cooked or prepared. The sushi menu at Lotus identifies the method of preparation, taking the guess work out of expanding your horizons and educating your sole. Rest assured that sushi chef, Shigeru “Dansun” Koyama, selects only the freshest ‘sashimi’ grade fish, flown in fresh daily, in his preparation.

“Dansun” has designed a sushi menu that offers a classic selection of sushi as well as original items, like the signature “Bricktown Roll.” Pair this, with Sterling Silver beef, aged for a minimum of 30 days, then hand cut daily. Delectable desserts, prepared daily by the pastry chef, are the finale to an unforgettable evening.

Lotus overlooks the canal in Bricktown at 100 East California (Oklahoma Street at the canal). The restaurant is open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner. Lotus features full bar service, including 12 varieties of Saki and 25 wines by the glass. The lunch menu features are $5.89 and dinner entrées average from $8 to $16. Reservations are suggested for groups of eight or more. 270-0800.
