Our Body: The Universe Within literally, and figuratively, goes “under the skin,” exposing the intricacies of the human body and allowing museum visitors a look at what only doctors and scientists normally are allowed to see firsthand. The exhibit will showcase specimens preserved through a patented polymer impregnation process that replaces fluids with polymers that prevent decay and decomposition. The process also allows for very detailed dissection and preparation that reveal the intricate details of the human body. This inspirational and educational exhibit casts a light on the alluring mystery of the human body through the presentation of these incredible specimens. By highlighting anatomy studies over the past 1,000 years, visitors also will see how the body’s beautiful complexity has influenced generations of artists and scientists. Through a brilliant, compelling and dignified exhibition, visitors will connect with these human artifacts on a personal level that will help them to better understand their own bodies. The exhibit’s cutting-edge MicroWorld display features high magnification images of healthy and diseased skin, organ and cell samples. The images under extreme magnification allow visitors to investigate otherwise invisible cell levels that impact our health. Tickets to Our Body: The Universe Within are $23.95 for adults, $21.95 for seniors and $19.95 for children. Science Museum Oklahoma at Omniplex admission is included.
