In addition to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, art patrons are encouraged to explore these three art galleries during their visit to Oklahoma City:
The Howell Gallery of Fine Art, one of Oklahoma City’s most prestigious art galleries, displays the works of both regionally and nationally recognized artists. This rich collection ranges from oils, pastel, watercolors, blown glass, acrylics, bronze sculpture, and turned wood, capturing the beauty and spirit from the styles of southwest art to European elegance. 1 Peter Robbins’ original pastel embellished photograph is one example of the artwork on display. JRB Art at The Elms welcomes the new year with an exhibition and sale of artwork by ten artists who exemplify the diverse styles of Oklahoma artists from the past century. An Official Oklahoma Centennial Project, Ten Since Statehood, runs from January 1 to 27, 2007. The Exhibit features Oklahoman artists Joe Andoe, David Crismon, David Fitzgerald, Harold Holden, 2 DJ Lafon, Mike Larsen, Brent Learned, Sherrie McGraw, J. Jay McVickers, and Charles Banks Wilson. JRB Art at The Elms is located at 2810 N. Untitled [ArtSpace] is a non-profit arts organization located in Downtown Oklahoma City. Beginning January 19, 2007, the Gallery will exhibit called Fresh, showcasing the work of six up-and-coming area artists under the age of 30. The featured artwork ranges from large-scale abstract paintings to small-scale serigraphs. The artists featured in Fresh include Oklahomans Trent Lawson, Brooke Madden, Natalie Moore, Cassie Stover, Oklahoma City, 3 Naomi Sumi, Edmond, and Amanda Weathers-Bradway.
